Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, and just like the majority of Windsor County residents I too have felt the impact of overdoses.
My generation has lost classmates, friends, and young people who had so much more life left to live.
In my own journey with alcohol recovery I have seen the remarkable power that community and peer support can have on preventable death from substance abuse disorder. I was heartbroken, but inspired by the stories shared on the common in Windsor tonight and I will work as your next State Senator to make sure those stories continue to be heard in Montpelier.
Special thank you to @beccabalintvt for making the trip north to speak. Major gratitude to the organizers and @teraaahh specifically for (as said at the event) the profile in courage you displayed.
Blue wave is coming Vermont! ๐
Thank you to the @vtdems for hosting a fantastic Unity Rally today in Montpelier. It matters that we all come together after a primary season as competitive as this one, and I am so grateful for the kindness and celebration our party showed today. Cheers to every candidate who put themselves on the ballot this season. ๐
Went south today to meet with some (๐ค) future colleagues from Windham County. The Vermont State Senate is going to be a happening place in January. Thank you for the time Nader and Wendy!

All the best primary day photos in one post. ๐ฅ
I have a lot of people to thank for making my successful Democratic primary campaign happen. You all know who you are, but I will likely have or will be sharing a personal thank you soon. ๐๐
As we head into the final stretch of summer I’ll be taking some time to recoup and get geared up for the general election. It looks like we have a contested race with the Republicans and possibly an independent so I’ll be needing your support to win that one too!
๐ Thank you for the vote of confidence Windsor County Senate District Democrats, and I’ll work everyday to continue to earn your endorsement.
PS If you have a lawn sign please bring it in till October for a replanting. ๐
Say hello to one of your Democratic nominees for Windsor County State Senate! Incredibly proud and grateful tonight. After a day traveling the county to polling places, it felt like a whirlwind of joy and reconnection with grassroots politics. From Thetford to Pittsfield, Bethel to Springfield, and Hartford to Weston- every part of this district is unique and filled with people who care. I saw so much opportunity, beauty and excitement today and I’m jazzed to keep the momentum going.
Honored to be on the ticket with Senator Alison Clarkson and Senator Dick McCormack, two of our best and mentors of mine. See you in November where we do this all over again in the General Election my friends. Thank you๐
To the cowardly person who drove over all our political lawn signs on our yard last night- we will not be intimidated!
There are very few couples I would skip the campaign weekend before the primary for- Noah & Emily are one them!
๐ฅCongratulations to the happy pair and thank you from Dylan & I for a beautiful evening on the lake.
Hometown Honk n Wave ๐ in Hartford today!
๐ช Started the afternoon door knocking with Esme Cole (running for State Representative for the Windsor 6 District!) and spent the late afternoon waving at the intersection of RTE 5 & 14 with my favorite folks.
โญ๏ธ I have a few sadnesses with not running for re-election to the House and campaigning to be a State Senator, and one of the biggest is not being Rep. Coach Christie’s seat mate. Please re-elect Coach Hartford!
