Introduction of H.298

Last week, your two Hartford State Presentative Coach Christie and I introduced H298: 'An act relating to administrative penalties for law enforcement use of excessive force'. The bill tackles criminal justice issues and further advances police reformation in Vermont. By introducing this bill, we aim to:

- impose penalties on officers who use prohibited restraint

- increase transparency on administrative sanctions against law enforcement officers

- suspend leave pay for law enforcement officers under investigation
